How to get to Osmena Peak Dalaguete?

The Osmena Peak is situated in Mantalungon, Dalaguete. It is about an hour and a half bus ride from the city. Take a bus going to Oslob and get off at Mantalungon public market. You can take a motorcycle ride going to the base of the mountain. If you have more time, you can directly hike to Osmena Peak Dalaguete. Hiking there usually takes more or less 2 hours. Going to the destination, you can actually see fog on the way.

Osmena Peak is the highest peak in Cebu at about 1000 meters above sea level. The peak is part of Mantalungon mountain range. Unlike others, jagged hills are grouped together that make up Mantalungon mountain range. You can see the Badian shorelines and Negros Oriental from afar. The mountain range somehow resembles Chocolate Hills but the ranges are rocky and sharp.

When you successfully climbed the Osmena Peak, you can truly have an amazing view of the ocean and nearby islands. Since the peak is privately owned, a man collects Php20 fee for each climber that enters the vicinity. Many hikers and mountaineers go camping down the peak. Campers can set up their tents in the campsite. A toilet is available for public use with an additional fee. You can stay overnight at the campsite. Don’t forget to bring enough sleeping materials, food and water for everyone. You may set up a bonfire for the night. Before sleeping, make sure to clean surroundings not to attract animals to get your food. After camping, keep the area clean and green.

Mantalungon is considered as the summer capital of Cebu because of its awesome climate. People grow vegetables, flowers, and other crops in the mountains. Mantalungon is known for being the vegetable basket in Cebu.
